So many of you have moved from different places around the globe. Like me, you landed in an amazing place. The South Bay has so much to offer for the FULL time MOM. However, it can be overwhelming sometimes. I hope the information posted here helps you get settled, so you can start having fun!

I joined the MOMS Club of Baltimore when Calvin was 4 weeks old. Week 2 I thought, what in the world do moms do at home all day. I realized very early on that I liked being with my son, but I did not want to STAY AT HOME.
The MOMS Club gave me places to go and people to meet. All that social interaction I missed from work was back.
I moved to the Pasadena, MD & joined the MOMS Club day one. I ended up being president for 2 years, and met some of my best friends.
3 kids later, I am enjoying the Hermosa Beach MOMS Club and all that it has to offer. Mostly friendship for me and my kids.
The MOMS Club is for people who want to get involved and get their butts out the door. No one is going to beg you to come to a playdate or volunteer. But if you give just a little of yourself, the club will give you back so much more.

Babysitters
An interesting subject in the South Bay. When I first moved here, I tried for the high school student, but no luck. In fact I was told by several people that they don't have the time and don't need the money!
I came to find out that many people have nannies a few days a week even if they stay at home. This is a foreign concept to me coming from the suburbs of Maryland. Moms/Dads either stayed home with their kids or dropped them off at daycare because they worked. Extra help was a luxury that most people did not have.
I have since found some great girls at the local University and I'm very happy.
Here is an AMAZING resource in the South Bay -- the MOMS Morning Out at Journey of Faith Church in Manhattan Beach. You can drop your child off to some wonderful ladies for a few hours a week and it is reasonable. A great way to get a moment to yourself and your kids are playing with other kids! Check out http://www.journeyoffaith.com. When you call, ask for the MOMS Morning Out Director.
